2018 Chevy Traverse Changes and Release Date
These days, crossovers and SUVs make up a big market in the automotive industry, meaning there are plenty of models to choose from. Yet, it’s no surprise the many choose Chevy. Chevy has remained a leader in these segment and it appears the brand will remain in such a position, as the new changes that have been made to the 2018 Chevy Traverse midsize SUV are sure to have drivers getting excited for its future release date.
One of the most noticeable changes to the Traverse is a brand new design. We won’t spend too much time talking about it, as the photos on this page should be sufficient. Some things to look out for, however, include chrome accents, LED signature lighting and available D-Optic LED headlamps.
Two new trim levels will be available for the Traverse in the 2018 model year: the RS and High Country. The RS is designed to be a sportier option by having blacked-out exterior design cues like a black chrome grille and black bowtie. The High Country is a luxurious option, delivering Loft Brown leather appointments, suede accents and power-fold third row seats.
Under the hood, the Traverse will be powered by a new 3.6-liter V6 engine paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission, which is expected to produce 10 percent more horsepower than its predecessor and help offer an estimated 5,000-pound towing capacity when properly equipped. The new RS trim will have a turbocharged engine that offers even more torque than the V6.
When Will the 2018 Chevy Traverse Go On Sale?
So, when can you get behind the wheel? Though no exact date or month for release has been made available, as is usually the case, it has been said that the 2018 Traverse will be going on sale sometime in the fall of 2017, so the wait shouldn’t be too long.
