Salute the Troops Memorial Races
There’s a half marathon, a 5K, and a kids run all taking place at the scenic Lakeside Park. You can register right online, or you can register in person on race day. Onsite registration begins at 6:00 AM with the first races beginning as early as 7:00 AM.
Fond du Lac Farmers Market
The Farmers Market in Fond du Lac is a weekly event, and it takes place at 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM on South Main Street. There will be live music, produce, crafts, and so much more. There is no better way to support your local community.
Memorial Day Parades in the FDL area
There are actually two parades that you should consider attending in the Fondy area. Both occur around the same time on Memorial Day, May 28, so you will likely only be able to attend one. Both also have ceremonies afterward. See below for more details.
Fond du Lac Memorial Day Parade
Where: Fond du Lac, WI
Day: Monday, May 28
Time: 10:00 AM
The Fond du Lac Memorial Day parade begins at 10:00 AM on the corner of Guindon Boulevard and Main Street. From there it will proceed north toward Veterans Park. The Veterans Park will host a Memorial Day Ceremony after the parade.
Waupun Memorial Day Parade
Where: Waupun, WI
Day: Monday, May 28
Time: 9:00 AM
The parade will begin at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 9:00 AM and will lead from there to Shaler Park where Memorial Day Ceremonies will be held at 10:00 AM. Any volunteers or participants should arrive by 8:30 AM.
National Cemeteries near Fondy

The Wood National Cemetery in Milwaukee is a bit of a drive, but it’s a beautiful cemetery where you can pay tribute to the fallen. This cemetery first opened in 1871 and officially became a National Cemetery in 1973.
