Are you trying to decide which Acadia trim level is right for you? If you know you want something above the base model and something below the top trim, it can get a little confusing, but we are here to explain the difference between 2018 GMC Acadia SLE and SLT trims.

What are the Acadia trim levels?
In all, there are six Acadia trim levels. There are the base model SL and the top Denali trims, but in between those two extremes, are the trim levels that we are interested in for this discussion. The SLE and SLT actually come in two varieties each, which makes for the SLE-1 and SLE-2 along with he SLT-1 and SLT-2.

Which Acadia trims levels have an AWD option?
If all-wheel drive is important to you first and foremost, then know that though all SLT and SLE trims for the Acadia come as front-wheel-drive SUVs standard, they are also all available with all-wheel drive. That goes for the Denali trim too!

Primary differences between the SLE and SLT Acadia trims
There are some big differences that make a dividing line between the SLT and SLE trims for the 2018 Acadia. The most visible of which is perhaps the standard leather on the first and second-row seats for both SLT trims.

The leather feature is added to the 8-way power driver’s seat that already comes standard on the SLE-2, but on the SLT-1 that feature is extended to the passenger’s seat as well. SLT trims also add lumbar control to both front seats.

Capability: How much can the 2018 Acadia tow?

There’s a large technology difference between SLE and SLT trims too. The SLE trims both come standard with a 7-inch touchscreen for example, whereas the SLT trims get an upgrade to an 8-inch touchscreen, and navigation is also available. To go along with the bigger infotainment screen, the SLT trims also provide a premium Bose® 8-speaker sound system.

An auto-dimming inside rearview mirror and heated auto-dimming side mirrors also become standard on SLT trims. On the exterior, there are some slightly different rim options that set these trim levels apart. However, those rim options vary even within the SLE trims and the SLT trims.

For a clear exterior distinguisher, both SLE trims are marked with a chrome SLE emblem on the driver’s side C-pillar. Similarly, both SLT trims are marked with a chrome SLT emblem also on the driver’s side C-Pillar.
