The towing for these two impressive engines will depend on your configuration and both the 2500HD and the 3500HD give you different towing numbers. One thing to note is that the gas engine gives you more towing in the 2500HD, but the diesel ranks supreme on the 3500HD. This is due to some packaging and weight differences.

For the gas powerplant, you get up to 14,400 pounds of towing in the 2500HD and 14,200 pounds of towing in the 3500HD when properly equipped. The diesel kicks things up a notch and gives you up to 15,400 pounds in the 2500HD and an insane 23,100 pounds in the 3500HD.
