Every Year, automakers will come up with new features and tech to put into a car to improve the driving experience or safety of a vehicle. In fact, if you look back, in just the past few years cars have become much more technology focused — and features that were once expensive and premium, are now the standard. Could the Cadillac Rear Camera Mirror be the next big feature?
What is the Cadillac Rear Camera Mirror
Being able to see behind your vehicle is essential to safe driving. Many cars nowadays are equipped with things like backup cameras that show what is directly behind and to the side of your car on a screen attached to the dashboard. But what about when you’re driving and trying to see behind you?
Cadillac has come up with a great solution for making sure you have perfect vision behind you, even if your car is packed full of very tall passengers that block your window! Its new feature, the Rear Camera Mirror, replaces the regular rear-view mirror with a LCD display and a high-definition camera. But how much will it help? Well, it’s estimated to improve your vision by 300 percent!
What cars will have the Cadillac Rear Camera Mirror?
So far, Cadillac is planning to put the Rear Camera Mirror in two of its upcoming vehicles. You’ll be able to pick up this new, innovative piece of tech in the 2016 Cadillac CT6 and the 2017 Cadillac XT5 when they’re released. But what about other vehicles? Well, we think it’s safe to see this feature will make its way into more models, hopefully soon!
