Seating capacity of the 2018 GMC Acadia
When you buy an SUV, you buy it because it gives you more capacity, more power, and more room, and the Acadia from GMC has all that and more. See exactly what we mean as we explore the seating capacity of the 2018 GMC Acadia.

Does the GMC Acadia offer a third row?
Not only does the GMC Acadia offer a third row for 2018, but it comes standard. In fact, even the base model SL and the SLE-1 trims both come with standard seating for up to 7 people. That puts two in the front row, three in the second row, and another two in the back third row. Smart sliding second-row seats make it easy for third-row passengers to get in and out too.

Can the Acadia be equipped with second-row captain’s chairs?
Sometimes you want comfort for your passengers to come above seating capacity just a little bit, and the Acadia can help you out with that by providing second-row captain’s chairs. These seats are much like the front seats providing superior comfort while also easing access to the third row.

You sacrifice a little seating capacity, but still have room for 6 with 2 passengers in all three rows. These second-row captain’s chairs come standard on the SLE-2, SLT-1, SLT-2, and Denali trims. If you want one of these higher trims, but still want seating for 7, then you can add the second-row bench seat back in with an option package. Either way, all seats can be folded down to give you plenty of cargo room for whatever you are looking to carry.

Is there a five-passenger Acadia available?
If you want to ditch the third row altogether, then the Acadia has an option for you, but it’s only available on two specific trim levels. The SLE-2 and the SLT-1, when equipped with all-wheel drive, not only come with 6-passenger seating standard, but also have both 7-passenger seating and 5 passenger seating available. The latter forgoes the third row altogether to provide more cargo room with a 3-passenger split-folding second row.
