When is the Appleton Memorial Day Parade 2016
When: Monday, May 30, 2016 at 9 a.m.
The annual and historic Memorial Day Parade in Appleton WI will start at 9 a.m. at the corner of College Avenue and Appleton Street, and follow its route to The historic Riverside Cemetery. There a Memorial Day ceremony known as the Moment of Remembrance will commence at the burial plot of George D. Eggleston of the Grand Army of the Republic. Afterward an additional ceremony will happen at the Appleton American Legion Post No. 38, located at the entrance of the cemetery.
Planning on sitting along the parade route? The parade will follow College Ave down to Meade St, and then turn onto Pacific St. heading east. The path then curves onto Owaissa St. where the route then ends at the Riverside Cemetery.
What Streets are closed during the Memorial Day Parade in Appleton?
Need to know which streets are closed in the morning if you’re taking a drive out of town with the family? During the staging period (from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.) College Ave will be closed between State Street and Appleton Street. Beginning at 8:55 a.m. several other streets will have closures along the route of the parade; they include: College Avenue, Meade Street, Pacific Street, and Owaissa Street. Streets will open up after the end of the parade has passed. College Ave is estimated to open around 9:40 a.m. and Pacific Street is planned to open roughly at 10 a.m.
