Passenger and cargo capacity of the 2019 Chevy Blazer
The Chevy Blazer is back. With sleek looks and solid performance, it’s a lot to love, but how big is it and where does it slot into the current Chevy SUV and crossover lineup? We’ll provide answers as we walk you through the passenger and cargo capacity of the 2019 Chevy Blazer.
Where does the Chevy Blazer fit into the Chevy SUV lineup?
The number of SUV options just keeps growing out there, but we are not complaining at all, and the return of the Blazer is more than welcome. Where does it fit in the lineup? In terms of both size and starting price, the current Chevy SUV/crossover lineup starts with the Trax and goes up from there with the Equinox, Blazer, Traverse, Tahoe, and the Suburban at the top.
Seating capacity of the 2019 Chevy Blazer
With the Blazer sitting in between the five-passenger Equinox and the eight-passenger Traverse, it’s only natural to wonder how many passengers the new Blazer will be able to handle. Though in terms of price it is closer to the Traverse, in terms of size it is closer to the Equinox.
In short, the Blazer is built for five people with two spacious rows of seating. In all, the Blazer provides up to 108 cubic-feet of passenger room, which is 8 cubic-feet more than the Equinox. Much of that extra space comes from a wider second row.
Cargo capacity of the 2019 Chevy Blazer
The cargo area of the 2019 Chevy Blazer is actually quite large. Despite its sporty sloped roofline, it can still handle 30.5 cubic-feet of cargo behind the second row of seats, which is again more than the Equinox but only by 0.6 cubic-feet. For the sake of comparison, that’s nearly double the trunk space of the 2019 Chevy Malibu at 15.7 cubic-feet.
That’s not the only trick up the Blazer’s sleeve though. Of course it comes with a folding second row that’s standard with a 60/40 split for maximum adaptability. When you fold down both sides of the 60/40 split folding bench, you get up to 64.2 cubic-feet of cargo room, which is 0.3 cubic-feet more than the Equinox. They are both comparable SUVs, and it will come down to what features and power you are looking for to make your decision.
