Chevy recently came out swinging with plenty of news following the Detroit and Chicago Auto Shows, but that doesn’t mean that new info and tidbits regarding its new vehicles can’t be also found at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show. And if we’re looking at what Chevy has at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show, then the clear example is the new 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport.

Each different model of the Corvette has something special going for it, and when we look at the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport that was revealed at the Geneva Auto Show, it’s clear to see where its priorities are. The Corvette Grand Sport is heavily influenced by Corvette Racing and Motorsports. Comparisons can easily be made to the 2016 Le Mans-winning Corvette GTE, since they both combine lightweight architecture, aerodynamics, and a naturally aspirated engine.

Specs of the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport
Powering the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport is a LT1 V8 engine rated at 460 horsepower with a dry-sump oiling system and active exhaust. There’s two different transmissions available in it: a seven-speed manual for the purists out there, and an eight-speed automatic with paddle-shifters to still allow for some control over the gear shifts. Slowing you down — only when you want to — is a brembo brake system with 14-in rotors and six-piston calipers in the front, and a slightly smaller pair on the rear wheels.
So when will the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport be hitting car lots like Holiday Automotive and the US roads? You can see it this summer when it becomes available in North America.
