The Camaro is one of the most iconic sports cars available, and the 2016 Chevy Camaro is another proud addition to its legacy. Every inch of the 2016 Chevy Camaro has been carefully designed to give its driver and passengers the experience that they deserve, and it has three powerful engines for you to choose from. Keep reading to learn what engines are in the 2016 Chevy Camaro.
Standard Engine in the 2016 Camaro
The 2016 Chevy Camaro comes standard with a turbocharged 2.0L I-4 engine that outputs 275 horsepower and has 295 lb-ft of torque. While the idea of having a I-4 in a sports car might be tough for some people to accept, the numbers don’t lie. The base Camaro engine will shoot from 0-60mph in just 5.6 seconds, yet its owners can still enjoy fuel efficiency up to 30 MPG on the highway.
Available Engines in the 2016 Camaro
Along with the base engine, the 2016 Chevy Camaro comes with two more available engines — a V6 and V8. The first is a 3.6L V6 engine that ups the horsepower to 335 for a faster 0-60 time along with a little more response from under the hood when you press the pedal down.
Of course the engine that many will be interested in is the 6.2L V8 in the 2016 Camaro. The 6.2L V8 has 455 horsepower to play around with, so to sum it up — It’s big, it’s loud, and it’s fast. When equipped with the 20-in RF4, it’s not uncommon to see the 2016 Camaro drop down to a 4.0 seconds flat 0-60 time with the V8. Of course, the 2016 Camaro will also lose some of efficiency in comparison to the smaller I-4 engine, but for some it’s definitely worth it.
