More and more people are finding themselves more than content with midsize pickup trucks like the GMC Canyon — which are still able to pack a lot of power into a smaller frame. GMC isn’t a brand that settles for small changes, and it looks like the 2017 GMC Canyon will be getting quite a few new features to its regular model along with a new Denali premium trim. Want to learn what is all new in the 2017 GMC Canyon? Take a look below!
New Features in the 2017 GMC Canyon
There are plenty of new and revised features and additions to the new 2017 GMC Canyon, starting at its base level and moving on up to premium trims and packages. Some additional features over previous model years include: a new IntelliLink Radio and 7-inch touchscreen, available heated steering wheel, standard Teen Driver mode, and new exterior paint colors (Dark Slate Metallic, Mineral Metallic, and Red Quartz Metallic.)
Will the 2017 GMC Canyon have a Denali Trim?
The Denali trim line from GMC has always offered the best and latest features available, which is why we were excited to see GMC finally offer the Denali trim on the 2017 Canyon. Much like other Denali vehicles, you can expect to see some exterior Chrome-styling, premium tech features like a Bose audio system or GMC IntelliLink, and other comforts like leather seats.
New Powertrain in the 2017 GMC Canyon
Another big change happening to the 2017 GMC Canyon is its new available V6 engine with a segment first eight-speed automatic transmission. The new 3.6L V6 will offer 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque and will have an exceptionally smooth driving experience when paired with the eight-speed transmission. In total you can expect to be able to tow up to 7,000 pounds with this new powertrain combo — which is only beat by the Duramax Diesel engine in the 2017 Canyon.
